Byron Private

Service Description

Byron Private is a residential program for trauma, addiction and mental health treatment in a small, supported community in the Byron Bay hinterland. With only 12 residents, the program is holistic and shaped around each resident's history and goals: individual therapy twice weekly, daily group therapy, trauma-informed care. Built on Pia Mellody's model of developmental immaturity, our program treats addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma and co-dependency as underpinned by early developmental experiences. Residents experience the model in every aspect of the program so they can make sense of their own journey and how it connects to what brought them to treatment. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, including onsite psychiatrists, psychologists, GPs, therapists, and nurses with 24/7 support. Onsite medically supervised withdrawal is available. The treatment centre is NSQHS accredited (hospital-grade standards). 12-month aftercare plan with follow-up.
