The social policy agency of the Australia Government, working to improve the lives and wellbeing of individuals and families. The department has several responsibilities including Families and Children, to support programs, services and benefits, Housing Support with affordable housing and homelessness services, Aged Care programs, services, benefits and payments, Communities and Vulnerable People, Disabilities and Carers services, programs and payments, Mental Health, services, benefits, Community Mental Health Activity, and Settlement and Multicultural Affairs to improve the wellbeing of migrants and refugees who are settling in Australia.
