A national agency that provides relevant information and statistics on Australia's health and welfare. The intent is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians through better information and statistics. Information that is collected includes expenditure, hospitals, disease and injury, mental health, ageing, homelessness, disability and child protection. Information is reviewed and shared with government departments, universities, research centres and non-government organisations.
