Newcastle Safe Haven
Service Description
A Safe Haven is a place you can go if you are in mental health distress or having suicidal thoughts, it is somewhere you go before you act on these thought or before you go to a hospital with suicidal thoughts. It is a safe place where you can attend to talk to a suicide prevention peer worker without judgment. A place where you can feel supported, not judged and to be around people without being around people. You can see about any mental health services you might need or other supports. If you do not feel like chatting, you can spend time in a quiet space and listen to music. This is a free service and no appointment is required. Service is available to persons aged 16 years and above. No referral required.
