Service Description

The CICADA Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Service at Sydney Children's Hospital provides care and interventions for adolescents affected by drugs and alcohol. This includes comprehensive adolescent health assessment, drug and alcohol assessment, counselling and intervention. The CICADA team includes paediatricians, clinical psychologists, social workers, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, clinical nurse consultants and Aboriginal clinical care navigators. The Adolescent Service is one service within a broader CICADA NSW service that provides assessment and intervention to children and families affected by drugs and alcohol. Alongside clinical care, the CICADA service supports research and education in key areas, provide online and face to face training for paediatricians, GPs, child protection staff, educators, and adult drug and alcohol services, and develop prevention and early intervention strategies.
