NSW Public Guardian
Service Description
A statutory official appointed by the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. This is through the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT), or the Supreme Court under the Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW). The Public Guardian is a division of the NSW Trustee & Guardian. The Public Guardian's responsibilities include promoting the rights and interests of people with disabilities through guardianship, advocacy and education. Guardians make health and lifestyle decisions on behalf of a person with a disability who is unable to make decisions on their own or without support.
