Gawura Aboriginal Corporation
Service Description
Gawura Aboriginal Corporation provides a comprehensive, culturally grounded suite of services that support Aboriginal men, women, children, youth, Elders, families, and victim survivors across the Illawarra region. Guided by Aboriginal leadership and community-led practice, the organisation delivers programs focused on violence prevention, behaviour change, youth development, cultural connection, and holistic wellbeing, alongside flexible supports including casework, early intervention, education and training, advocacy, referrals, and assistance to meet both immediate and long-term needs. This integrated service model includes Nana Nhawa ("Better Days") a dedicated support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and their children impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence. Working alongside menâs behaviour change programs, it provides culturally safe case management, safety planning, and coordinated referrals within a whole-of-family approach.
