Court Liaison Service Blacktown
Service Description
Provides a free service for people appearing in court who have a mental illness, mental disorder or are cognitively impaired and/or display behaviour that is thought to be related to their mental health. A mental health clinician completes a mental health assessment with consent of the person. The report is provided to the Magistrate, Police Prosecutor, and Defence Solicitor. The report includes details of the person's mental health and recommendations for care and treatment if appropriate. Court Liaisons work in several courts throughout NSW.
