Court Liaison Service

Service Description

A court based diversion program targeting individuals with mental health difficulties, charged with non- indictable offences. Each local court district has a Court Liaison Officer to perform assessments of mental health for the courts. The service assists Magistrates, Solicitors, and Police Prosecutors at local courts with diversion of people with mental health problems and disorders by referring to appropriate mental health services in the community and hospitals.
