Volunteer Home Visiting
Service Description
Trained volunteers visit a family with children under 5 years in their home once per week for two hours to support their parenting by providing practical and social support. Volunteers can help reduce social isolation, increase confidence and self esteem of parents, enhance parenting skills and support building social networks. Volunteers do not provide unsupervised childcare, transport or do housework. The service is offered to people with current domestic violence or drug and alcohol issues, as well as untreated mental health concerns.
