Bikes 4 Life

Service Description

The Sydney branch has repaired and gifted, more than 3,500 bicycles, since it moved to the Kimbriki Recycling & Resource Centre at 1 Kimbriki Road, Ingelside NSW 2101 in early 2019. In addition it has gifted another 1,200+ unrepaired lower quality bikes to be exported to Africa for repair there. We gift refurbished bikes to charities, and other organisations, both here and overseas. Within Australia, we have given our bikes to indigenous communities out west, refugee groups in Sydney, the PCYC, disability organisations and various children’s charities. We have also provided refurbished bikes to countries all over the world, such as Uganda, Cambodia, Tonga, Lebanon, and Zambia. It is worth noting that, bikes we send overseas are often used as the main source of transport for a whole family, and so a simple bike can become an incredibly valuable asset. In 2023 we paid for 333 bikes to be sent to one charity in Cambodia.
