Transcultural Mental Health Centre - Khmer Mental Health Carers Support Group
Service Description
The Transcultural Mental Health Centres Carer Support Program has established and facilitated several language-specific carer support groups for families and carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, who live with or care for a family member or friend with a mental health problem. Some of these mental health problems are severe depression, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, and all childhood disorders. The Khmer carer support group meets monthly in Carramar. It offers information, support, and educational activities to carers. Please contact Ms. Sonia Parmegiani, the Khmer bilingual group leader for further information.
