Transcultural Mental Health Centre - Farsi Carer Support Group

Service Description

The Transcultural Mental Health Centre's Carer Support Program has established and facilitated a number of language-specific carer support groups for families and carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, who live with or care for a family member or friend with a mental health problem. Some of these mental health problems are severe depression, eating disorder, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and all childhood disorders. The support groups offer information, support and educational activities to carers who are from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the groups meet face-to-face on a bi-monthly basis and carers receive individual phone call support on the alternated months.
