Karonga School

Service Description

Offers educational programs for students with special needs from their early years through to the end of high school. The school provides programs in special education within a caring and supportive environment. It is part of a network of services for children with special needs provided by the Department of Education. There is a strong student welfare focus including positive behaviour support, therapy support and community based programs. The individual programs are designed to focus on student achievement in order to promote individual development and success for an independent future. The school is for students from years K-12.

Referral System

Students attend Karonga following an offer from the regional placement panel. All students have a primary intellectual disability, with many having secondary and/or multiple disabilities. Parents will be notified of acceptance by letter of offer.
