Councilsâ responsibility to improve the wellbeing of the local government area as a whole and provide a range of services to residents and visitors alike. Council administers various laws and regulations to help maintain and improve services and facilities for the community such as, environmental and land use planning, public health, infrastructure, construction and maintenance, community planning and healthy lifestyle programs, sporting and recreational services and open spaces, environmental protection and waste management Other services provided to the local community include, youth activities and programs, community development, community engagement, regional library and gallery services, tourism and economic development.
