Service Description

The Seasons for Growth suite of evidence-based change and loss education programs aim to strengthen the social and emotional well-being of children, young people and adults who are experiencing major life changes and losses such as bereavement, separation and divorce by supporting them to explore the impact of change and loss on everyday life and to learn new ways to respond. The Seasons for Growth programs are facilitated in small groups and is based on research which highlights the importance of social support and the need to practice new skills to cope effectively with change and loss. �Seasons for Growth� covers topics such as self-esteem, managing feelings, problem-solving, decision-making, effective communication, and building support networks. Seasons for Growth suite of programs includes: Seasons for Growth Children and Young People�s Program (ages 5-18) Stormbirds provides an opportunity for children and young people who have experienced a natural disaster to share their experiences of change and loss in safe and creative ways, understand and attend to their feelings, and learn skills for adapting and recovering (ages 5-14). Seasons for Growth Adult Program aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of adults who are dealing with significant life changes. Seasons for Growth Parent Program � offers an opportunity for parents to better understand the experience of death, separation and divorce and bereavement from a child�s perspective. Seasons for Healing, is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander small group program for adults dealing with issues of loss and grief. The Seasons for Growth suite of programs provides loss, change & grief evidence-based educational programs that draw on the metaphor of the seasons to understand change.
