Sydney Youth Justice Conferencing
Service Description
Youth conferencing under the Young Offenders Act for young people who have committed offences that are too serious for cautions or warnings. Conferencing brings together the young offender, their families, and victims with police to discuss the implications of the crime and the impact it has. Agreement is reached regarding apology, reparation to victims and steps to keep the young person from reoffending. The aim is to hold young people accountable for their behaviour and for them to take responsibility.
