Mental Health Review Tribunal - Northern Territory

Service Description

An independent statutory body that has the power to make decisions about the care and treatment of people who have a mental illness or mental disturbance. It is a three member panel that conducts reviews of the admission and treatment of involuntary or voluntary patients into hospitals. It governs under the Mental Health Act & Related Services Act (NT). Will also hear appeals against decisions, and may make orders for transfer of individuals to other treatment facilities.
