Service Description

Ensures that all polio survivors in Australia have access to appropriate health care and support to maintain their independence and lifestyle. Information is provided to survivors and their families about effects of late polio, education and training given to General Practitioners and medical specilaists, and outreach to Aboriginals, Torres Strait Islanders and people from CALD backgrounds to assist in culturally sensitive ways. Works to promote immunisation and policy toward programs for research and continued eradication of polio.
