Service Description
Social workers are able to assist patients , their families and carers with personal and practical challenges when illness occurs. The Aboriginal HealthTeam works closely with social workers to support needs of Aboriginal patients, their families and carers. Counselling and emotional support are provided for circumstances such as anxiety about illness or hospitalisation, family issues, crisis and trauma, bereavement, transfer of care arrangements, rehabilitation, financial concerns, legal matters, domestic violence, crime victims, mental health, drug and alcohol, aged care, gambling, ongoing support.
