Reconnect Inner City
Service Description
A federally funded community-based early intervention service that encourages family reconciliation for young people aged 12-18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Helps adolescents improve their level of engagement with family, education, training, employment and their local community. Specific help extended to at risk youth includes stabilising their accommodation, providing individual and/or family counselling, advocacy, and advice. Reconnect provides referral and engagement with specialist services including Centrelink and employment services, mental health and health support services, and life skills development programs, and runs customised therapeutic and/or educational groups for young people and parents.
