ACON's Community Safety and DFV Support
Service Description
Provides support, information, referrals and linkage to counselling and care coordination support to lesbian, gay, bisexaul, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people who have experienced homophobic, transphobic, domestic or family violence. This includes supporting people to report to police and access legal services. Works with and trains a variety of services to improve the experiences of LGBTI people and to address the underlying causes of violence through the Community Safety and Social Inclusion project. The project also coordinates campaigns such as This is Oz, Safe Place and community volunteer programs that focus on community safety, engaging communities and responding to community needs.
