The organisation receives and manages complaints regarding registered doctors and medical students. Oversees safe and appropriate professional standards for practicing doctors and reviews complaints regarding health, performance and conduct. Has the authority to impose restrictions on licencing if required and to ensure that medical students are fit to have contact with the public. Also monitors compliance and ethical practice in the medical profession.
