Newcastle Sexual Assault Service

Service Description

A free confidential service staffed by female Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists, who are specialised in working with children and adults who have been sexually abused. There is an Aboriginal Social Worker available, and a specialist paediatrician and psychiatrist. Priority is given to children and adults who have recently been sexually assaulted. There is a service for adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse. Services include counselling, medical and forensic examination, support to non offending family members, and court support and information.
