Uniting Intensive Family Preservation - South West Sydney

Service Description

Intensive Family Preservation (IFP), is an intensive in home support program for families with children aged 0-17 years. The program can work with families for up to 6 months. The program provides an initial period (of three months) of intensive casework service where the IFP caseworker typically meets with the family at least twice a week, preferably in their home. This is followed by a “step-down” period (of three months) of less intensive, but individually-tailored, casework and assistance services. During the IFP program, families have access to a 24hr/7 days-a-week on-call caseworker. The program works alongside parents by assisting and teaching parents and families to create a safe environment for their children. Referrals to IFP come only from the Department of Communities and Justice (formally FACS).
