Mental Health Carers NSW (MHCN)

Service Description

MHCN is the systemic peak body for mental health carers in NSW. MHCN engages in systemic advocacy to reflect the voices and needs of carers and drive change in the mental health system in NSW. As a peak body, MHCN provides feedback on policies and services on behalf of carers to the NSW Ministry of Health and to Local Health Districts. MHCN makes a positive difference to the mental health system by influencing changes in policy, legislation, and service provision. MHCN regularly engages with carer lived experience across NSW to ensure accurate and representative feedback. MHCN also runs a telephone support line for carers, which provides information and referrals to other services. This runs Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 4.30 pm (excluding public holidays and shutdown over end of year). Please note: MHCN does not provide direct supports services for carers.
