International Volunteers for Peace
Service Description
Collaborates with partners to organise volunteer projects in communities across the globe. Offers projects short to long term volunteers who join typically 2-3 week work camps. Volunteers may come from all backgrounds, ages and nationalities to cooperate as a team on tasks and a goal set by the local community. Work varies by the need of the project. This can be improving the welfare of young or old people, in civil reconstruction, environmental protection or cultural expression and reconciliation. Volunteering advances understanding and personal growth of participants. It is an experience accessible to all, that calls on a certain maturity, but brings comparable rewards, including self-knowledge; insights into other people and cultures, new experiences and understanding outside the ordinary.
