Creative Youth Initiatives

Service Description

Unique service for young people aged 16-25 years who are facing challenges such a homelessness, mental health issues, substance abuse, family issues, and unemployment. Goal setting, counselling and exit/future planning are combined with visual arts and music to develop young people's creativity, self-expression, esteem and communication skills. Music tutors, art tutors and a Social Worker provide positive learning experiences for the students as they work towards healthier minds and bodies as well as educational qualifications. CYI's two core programs are Sounds of the Street (SOTS) and Artworks!
