John Hunter Hospital
Service Description
A public hospital and referral centre for Newcastle. There are 796 beds and emergency services, including a short stay emergency unit. Most medical services are available for inpatients. There are no adult mental health inpatient beds, there is a consultant and liaison in the hospital to see patients with mental health concerns. An adolescent mental health unit for children and young people 5-17 years of age- Nexus is within the hospital and has 12 inpatient beds.
