Advocate for Children and Young People
Service Description
An independent statutory office reporting to the NSW Parliament through the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Children and Young People. The Advocate works to improve the safety, welfare and well being of all children and young people in NSW. Represents the voices of children and young people to ensure their rights are respected and their points of view are heard by decision makers. . Please note that under our legislation (https://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au/~/view/act/2014/29/part2) we do not have the function of dealing directly with matters relating to individual children and young people, but may assist in the provision of general information about and referral to government and non-government programs.
