Black Dog Institute
Service Description
A research and education institute that works toward understanding, preventing and treating mental illness. Research focuses on discovering causes of the illness and new treatments, that will be used with improved clinical treatments, increased accessibility to mental health services, and long term public health solutions. There are clinics for depression, bipolar and a psychology assessment service. Treatment is not provided, but is used as a second opinion. There are community education programs, including schools.

Bipolar support groups require assessments through Black Dog for eligibilty. Groups run for 8 weeks once a year and require a gap fee for first meeting.
