Part of an international organisation to raise awareness and support efforts of response to global emergency humanitarian crises. It relies on donations and volunteers to promote its campaigns. Work includes emergency response to contingency planning, global stockpiles of relief items and deployment of trained personnel to assist. It responds to refugee crises, food shortages, natural disasters and acts of war.
